Shelby Learned to Ride Her Bike!

Last Thursday Shelby learned to ride her bike! She had been afraid to learn ever since we got her a big girl bike last summer. Adam did some studying up on the best way to teach a kid to learn to ride. He found out that if you take the pedals off of the bike and let the kid learn to balance by gliding, they will learn faster. I guess they feel like they can put their feet down quicker if they think they are going to fall if they don't have pedals in the way. After a few days without pedals, Shelby got the gliding down and so Adam put the pedals back on. She's riding her bike up and down the streets now! Another milestone reached. She's just too happy!

Gingerbread House

The other day Shelby and I attempted to make our very first gingerbread house. It was not as easy as it looked. Shelby says it looks like a sad gingerbread house. Adam said it looked like he did the laundry in there and the suds overflowed out the windows! Shelby's favorite part was snacking on the candy as she decorated. Maybe next year our little house won't look so sad. Maybe next year I'll use an actual icing bag instead of just snipping the corner off of the icing that came with the kit.

Three Thousand Six Hundred and Fifty

Today is the 3,650th day that I've been married to my wonderful husband.

In 1994 Adam and I met in high school when I was 16 and he was 15. I had to drive us on our first date! We finished high school and went on to college together. Right after I graduated from college in 1999, we got married the following January. Adam graduated the following May. In 2001, Adam took care of me when my retina detached. About a year later Shelby was born. In 2005 we bought our first home. Bethany was added to our family 2 years later. Now here we are--2010!! I love Adam as much and more now than the day I married him. I'm so glad we have been through so many things together...good and bad, exciting and scary. I'm so glad I know him so well and he knows me. I'm looking forward to many, many more happy years to come with my girls and the man I love.

I Will Be Here by Steven Curtis Chapman was one of the songs in our wedding and sums up what marraige is to me. I'm so thankful that I'm blessed with Adam who will always be here for me.

I love you, Adam! Happy 10th Anniversary!!!

SNOW!!

Finally! It seems like everyone else has been getting snow here lately and finally we're getting some white stuff! I hope it keeps up and doesn't melt so the girls can play in it after school!
