KFC Commercial

We were watching American Idol last night and a KFC commercial came on. As clear as a bell Bethany said, "I want chicken." She said a complete sentence with more than two words and she is 19 months old! Needless to say, we were all shocked!

Update

I talked to my Grandad this morning and he is at home now. He's not feeling that great but is doing some better. Please continue praying for a quick recovery and for him to get to feeling normal again. Thanks for all of your prayers thus far!

My Sweet Girls

Here lately Bethany has been pleasantly surprising me with spontaneously I Love You's and big hugs. In the mornings, to let us know she is awake, she yells as loudly as she can for Adam and I. Whoever gets to her first is greeted with a big smile and hello. Her favorite thing to watch on tv right now is the Wiggles. She dances up a storm when they come on. Her new dance is one where she moves her hips from side to side. The other day when Shelby was crying, Bethany went over to her with such a concerned look on her face, patted Shelby and said, "Cying!" Sweetheart.

Shelby is also a gem. When she sees that I am really tired, she's always quick to ask if there's anything she can help me with. She has such a big heart. She's taken up cooking with mommy. I really enjoy it. I hope she remembers cooking with me when she has a kitchen of her own. Shelby's a mother hen, too. Most of the time when Bethany is upset or crying, Shelby runs to the rescue to see if there is anything she can do to help. She's been that way ever since Bethany was born.

When Adam gets home, the first thing he hears from the girls is a screaming DADDY! He eats that up! Then the girls have to have hugs and kisses before they go on their way.

Prayers Needed

I just found out that my eighty year old Grandad that the girls and I visited recently is in the hospital with pneumonia. He's also very dehydrated. Please pray for a quick recovery. My aunt and uncle live where my Grandad lives so luckily he has them near.

Aches, Pains and Complaints

I didn't know that when I turned thirty that would be the magical time for aches and pains to appear. I don't mean to complain...well, yes I do...but it seems like I've either got knots in my shoulders or back or a stiff neck or just plain tired! Luckily Adam has the magic touch and can work out my knots. He gets tired of me saying, " Adam, can you rub my shoulders?"
I am going to start working out though. I'm excited about taking the Total Body Fitness class at the gym. I soooo hope I can lose some weight. Maybe I'll feel better. Wish me luck!

I've been tagged!

Monica (from A Day in the Life!) just tagged me!

Here is what you do:

1. Go to your 4th folder where you store your photos.
2. Select your 4th picture (no exceptions)!
3. Post the picture with an explanation and link it back to your tagger.
4. Tag 4 people to do the same!!

The whole fam was watching tv one night and Adam grabbed the camera and just took a random shot. There's not very many pictures of the kids and I and I'm glad he takes at least a few so the girls will know what their mom looked like when they were little!

So, ladies....you're next!

My Koalaty Kid

Shelby's school has incentives for the students to be on their best behavior that are called koalaty points (koala bear/quality). For every 100 points a child receives, he/she gets prizes. If a child does a good deed or is on their best behavior they can earn koalaty sticks. These sticks along with points earned from reading books each week are combined together to obtain the amount of points each child has. Shelby has reached the 500 point mark so she earned herself a t-shirt! Just 500 more points to go and she can get the top prize which is a trophy. I'm very proud of her hard work and good manners at school!

New Years in Texas

For New Years my Mom and I and the girls visited my Grandad, aunt/uncle and cousins in Hereford. It was a looooong trip...we split the trip into two days so we could make pit stops along the way. It took us the better part of two days to get there! We enjoyed seeing the family. Here's a few pictures from the trip:

Courtney and her shadow.

Shelby and Brynna getting ready to ride horses! Shelby was THRILLED!

Uncle Wes and Aunt Janna helped Bethany ride for the first time!
