We started out celebrating mother's day with grand plans...but they all too quickly changed. Our family was on our way to Dallas. We were talking and laughing and having a good time and then it hit Adam--NAUSEA!!! He started feeling AWFUL!!! We were only about an hour or so into our drive. I said, "Let's just go home. It wouldn't be any fun for you to be sick." Reluctantly, he agreed and we turned around and headed home. Even though we had already reserved and paid for one night's stay at a hotel, it turned out okay. Adam went to bed right when we arrived back home and woke up Saturday feeling better. I don't know what caused this horrible attack, but we're thinking it could be his gall bladder. He's had similar attacks before.
Anyhow, we enjoyed a lazy Saturday morning and decided to make the best of the day. Around lunch time we got in the van and headed about 45 minutes down the road. On the way we stopped at the lake and enjoyed some beautiful scenery and took a few pics. Then, when we arrived at our destination, we enjoyed a walk through Art in the Park, Adam and Shelby cooled their toesies by wading in the nearby stream, a little shopping and a scrumptious dinner at Outback complete with a Chocolate, Chocolate Tower (an enormous piece of ooey, gooey chocolate cake with sweet raspberry sauce and delicious vanilla ice cream topped with raspberry sauce.) BTW, Adam, Shel and I couldn't even put a dent in it so now it is in our fridge!
Below are the sweet things my daughters and husband gave me on my special day!

Wow Jen! I hate that Adam felt bad. I am glad though that you got some good stuff for Mother's Day. Is that a Rachel Ray cookbook I see?!!! Cool Beans!!! Happy Mother's Day Jen!
